Elaina & Pani's Big Fat Greek Wedding!

As far as decision making goes, selecting the perfect wedding venue is usually the biggest decision to be made, and normally one of the first steps on your planning journey! Nothing like jumping in at the deep end! You may have a long list of requirements or you may let your heart make the right decision, Elaina & Pani knew they needed somewhere special and somewhere that could comfortably accommodate their guest number.
“We were looking for somewhere different with the wow factor. That was our main ‘want’ but of course we also needed somewhere that would accommodate the amount of guests we had (around 250 people)”.
“We knew Hylands was ‘the one’ when we saw how unique and beautiful the House and Grand Pavilion were. It couldn’t have been more perfect”.
Elaina and Pani chose to marry at a Greek Orthodox Church in Brookman’s Park before making their way to Hylands Estate for their Wedding Reception.
Guests were able to enjoy a drinks reception upon arrival at Hylands House, allowing them a chance to enjoy the lavish décor and magnificence of the neoclassical venue before heading into the Grand Pavilion for the Wedding Reception.
“We felt amazing, it truly was the happiest day of our lives. I think one of the best moments was walking into the pavilion for the first time to see everything we visualised put in to place so perfectly”.
The newly-weds are big fans of Disney, so they chose to include some magical Disney touches along with hints of blue. Elaina’s bridesmaids wore navy blue and the internal lighting inside the Grand Pavilion was lit to match!
The subtle uplighters are a great bonus, they can complement almost any colour scheme to add a little extra to your evening reception!
“We made our own centre pieces and done a lot of bits ourselves, so that was really special to see it all come together. We actually really enjoyed the whole planning process. We managed to arrange our whole ‘big fat Greek wedding’ in 7 months. We got married in February so availability for suppliers wasn’t something we needed to worry about (as it was off peak). Selecting suppliers was easy too and we were very happy with everyone we went with”

“Absolutely, not only is it sooo beautiful, it perfectly accommodates for anything you might need. The staff were incredibly helpful and professional and sorted anything we needed. Our guests were honestly amazed at the beauty of the place and the fact you get the whole house and pavilion is brilliant. I also really like the fact that we can visit Hylands at any time to go for a walk around the grounds and show our kids where we got married”.
