With supplier access from 9am, and room sizes to suit a variety of ceremonies from Hindu ceremonies with a Mandap and sacred fire, to Islamic weddings with elaborate staging, there is space for every element of your day. Our extensive Accredited Caterers list includes a wide range of Asian caterers for you to choose from. All this, plus the abundance of breath-taking surroundings for your photographs, we think you’ll agree that Hylands has it all.
Closer than you think to the capital, Hylands Estate is just off Junction 15 down the A12 towards East Anglia making it incredibly easy to get to for your wedding party and your guests. Free guest parking is available on site close to Hylands House, just come off London Road when prompted and drive through the beautiful grounds where you will be welcomed by the view of the House and its iconic Portico.
You have a choice of opulent rooms within the house to host a Nikkah ceremony for up to 100 guests. We can also provide separate rooms if you require a segregated wedding ceremony or reception.
The Grand Pavilion can hold up to 300 guests for your Walimah, with ample space to set up a lavish stage in two different lay outs. The event bar can be used for mocktails, or hidden by draping depending on your preference.
The Grand Pavilion is the ideal location for Hindu ceremonies as it has both the height and space to accommodate a Mandap with Havan Kund and statue(s) of Ganesh. Following the ceremony, your guests will be ushered into the house to enjoy lunch while you have photographs and enjoy Koda Kodi.
The Baraat can enjoy a lovely long procession down towards the house, be that in a wedding car or by horse. Dhol players are also welcome to play to the cheering crowds!
Full day hire offers you guest access from 10am and with our complimentary hour for access, your suppliers will be able to arrive at 9am to set up. Understanding that your ceremony is likely to take place in the morning, we offer the option to purchase additional hours to ensure that suppliers can arrive as early as required to set up (set at £600 per hour).
The Grand Pavilion is the perfect blank canvas for you to create your dream reception using your choice of suppliers. It also includes a permanent bar for your selected drinks supplier to manage.
You’ll have access to the wedding suite upon arrival should you wish to change outfit from the morning ceremony, whilst your guests enjoy welcome drinks and canapes downstairs.
You’ll then be whisked into the Grand Pavilion to celebrate your special day in style! With space for up to 300 guests, staging, DJ and dancefloor what’s not to love!

You may choose to use one of the ceremony rooms – either the same or a different one to what you will be using for the wedding day – and make grand entrances through to the main hall to one of the ground floor rooms. You can choose from our accredited caterers list if you would like refreshments all in one place.
