Ceremony Rooms

A unique feature of Hylands Estate is the layout and features of our beautiful rooms. From the red and gold features of the Banqueting Room to the subtle beauty of the Drawing Room, each can provide the ideal space for your traditional ceremonies.

All our ground floor rooms are ideal for a more intimate ceremony such as a Chinese Tea ceremony and can be closed to just include those closest to you. The Banqueting Room and Drawing Room can host a ceremonial service, meaning you can choose Hylands Estate for the whole celebration, from exchanging of vows to the banquet.

Door Games in the Wedding Suites

Although our Wedding Suites are beautifully designed for getting ready and make stunning photographs, they are also a perfect set of rooms to test the groom’s determination to marry the bride during the traditional door games!

You can use the Wisteria Room to hide the bride away from the groom until he has passed your tests in the Repton Room. Use the Rose Room to host the bridal party – or even hide the bride’s shoe!

Outdoor space for processions

If a procession through your local community is something you’d like to emulate on your special day, you can use the surrounding pathways to create a spectacle like no other.

With room for luxury cars, dancers, drummers, or even a lion dance troupe, you can create a procession as though you are collecting the bride from Hylands House itself!

Picture perfect

Getting the right pictures to capture your special day is something we can supply in abundance. Choose the seasonal blooms of the Pleasure Gardens, our One World Garden, outdoor ceremony garden, or Hylands House itself in all its grandeur. Being in such close proximity to London means you can extend your celebrations. Head to the capital for more wedding photos at the UK’s most famous landmarks, or venture further into East Anglia to explore our own cities and the Essex coast.

A space fit for a banquet

For the finale of your wedding day, our Grand Pavilion can host up to 300 guests, so you can invite everyone you need to for the rest of the evening. All our tables are round, making seating plans a little easier!

This space is yours to decorate with your selected décor supplier. Whether its traditional, or warmer colours that represent new life and happiness, our airy and bright space can suit a variety of styles that will bring your vision to life.

You can choose a caterer from our list of accredited suppliers, who will work with you to prepare your wedding banquet. If you have something else in mind, contact us to discuss. Our production supplier can help with any slideshows you wish to include. There’s plenty of room for toasts, performances, and music!
