Rochelle & Andrew

Real Wedding

Rochelle and Andrew first met in the summer of 2021 at a series of soca events, drawn together by their shared love of the music and the vibrant atmosphere. It didn’t take long for them to realise there was something special between them. In fact, after just a few weeks of talking, Andrew suggested that their first official date should be in another country—a bold and exciting start for their relationship.

In June 2023, Andrew proposed and from the moment they got engaged, they knew they wanted to be married exactly one year later. With a June wedding in mind, they hoped for warm weather and clear skies to create the perfect summer celebration.

Finding the Perfect Venue

As they began searching for their dream wedding venue, Rochelle and Andrew visited around ten different locations. While each had its own charm, none could quite compare to Hylands. “The grounds are stunning, the house was beautiful, and the staff were most welcoming,” they shared. From the moment they arrived, they felt at ease. “We knew we were in good hands.”

A Day to Remember

Their wedding day was filled with emotion, excitement, and joy. “Saying our vows was such a special moment,” they recalled, but it was the evening celebration that truly stood out for them. “Celebrating with all of our family and friends was incredible. You could really feel the love in the room.”

The couple also made sure their guests were entertained throughout the day. “Our bridal party danced during each of their entrances, and we had a few performances ourselves. Having our loved ones participate really brought a lot of energy to the day and made everyone feel like they could get involved in the fun later on.”

Wedding Inspiration and Planning

Rochelle and Andrew attended two Hylands wedding showcases during their planning process, which helped them make key decisions. “We ended up booking four vendors that we were introduced to at the showcase, so I would say it’s a must for future couples!”

When it came to their wedding décor, they had a vision in mind but still took time to refine every detail. “We always knew what colour scheme we wanted, but we searched through thousands of images on Pinterest just to be sure. We’d also send each other inspiration we found on social media.”

Their Favourite Moments

Reflecting on their special day, the couple shared their top three highlights:

  • “Getting ready in the morning with the bridesmaids and groomsmen, taking pictures, videos, and sharing jokes before we headed to the church.”
  • “How beautiful our wedding ceremony was.”
  • “How incredible Hylands House looked! From the entrance to the drinks reception and the main pavilion, everything was perfect, and the staff were amazing!”

Advice for Future Couples

One of the trickiest parts of planning a wedding is finalising the guest list. It’s easy to feel torn between wanting to invite everyone and ensuring the day remains personal and intimate. Rochelle and Andrew understand how difficult this can be. “When compiling your guest list, think: ‘Can I imagine my day without this person there?’ If so, consider whether you need to invite them.”

With a day filled with love, energy, and unforgettable memories with their loved ones, Rochelle and Andrew’s wedding at Hylands was truly everything they had hoped for.
