Getting Ready
Before your guests arrive and the celebrations begin, the moments spent getting ready are a special part of your wedding day.
You’ll have access to our three beautiful wedding suites, the Wisteria Suite, Rose Room and Repton Room, offering a peaceful space to gather with your bridal parties and loved ones.
Whether you’re enjoying being pampered with your hair and makeup, popping a bottle of champagne, or tucking into a wedding brunch — carefully created by our on-site café The Deli — our beautiful rooms provide the perfect space. Large mirrors, natural light, and a beautiful view over the wintery park create a perfect morning and provide plenty of opportunities for photographs too!

From the moment your guests arrive, Hylands Estate makes an impression. The grounds offer stunning backdrops year-round, from the frosted gardens to the grandeur of the House in the winter light.
Catch early sunsets for romantic golden hour portraits, capture the glow of the white portico against the crisp dusk sky, or finish the evening with a dramatic firework display beneath the stars.
Inside, your guests are welcomed into the warmth of the Grand Entrance Hall, with its high ceilings and historic charm. Drinks and canapes can flow within the house, with everyone set to enjoy a day of celebration.
The period interiors are rich in details and offer a warm and romantic setting for intimate portraits and group shots alike, perfect for couples dreaming of an unforgettable and sophisticated celebration.
An Elegant Ceremony
One of the most beautiful features of a winter wedding at Hylands Estate is the natural soft lighting that fills our ceremony spaces.
The Drawing Room, with its ornate and gilded ceiling and crystal chandelier, becomes a serene setting for your vows.
The beautifully restored Banqueting Room offers a royal backdrop with rich décor. Its 24 carat gold leaf ceilings make it a space for a bold seasonal statement.
Styling & Personal Touches
Winter invites creativity when it comes to styling and personal touches. Imagine warm hot chocolate and cosy dessert stations for your guests; velvet ribbon details, evergreen foliage centrepieces, and twinkling lights. There are endless ways to make your celebration uniquely seasonal.
After your ceremony, head to our Grand Pavilion, a beautiful space, fully heated and fitted with draped ceilings and chandeliers. It’s the perfect blank canvas for your chosen theme.
We’ve seen couples embrace deep, dramatic colour pallets like forest green, burgundy (the colour of our October showcase), navy and gold, and others opt for a softer, snowy look with whites and silvers.
A Real Winter Wedding Couple: Amar & Simi
Myself and Simi got married at Hylands House in March 2025 and the venue & staff surpassed all our expectations.
We started searching for reception venues in 2024, and after months of visiting various venues, we finally visited Hylands House. Within minutes we both knew it was going to be our winter wedding venue.
The wedding planning process was extremely smooth, and this is largely down to the support provided by the Hylands House team.
We want to give a special thanks to the Events and Weddings Team, who went the extra mile on a number of occasions to support us both during the process. They were always available to assist on any questions we had.
The duty managers on the day, made us feel like we were in safe hands and our winter wedding ran incredibly well. We can’t thank the Hylands House team enough for this!
Further, the venue itself was a showstopper with friends and family, who were blown away by the beauty of not only the house itself, but also the surrounding gardens.
The grounds made a stunning backdrop for our wintery wedding photos and provided memories for us as a couple for a lifetime. We look forward to visiting the grounds again soon!
