Wedding Suite

Hylands Estate

10th May 2021 – Weddings

Written by Amy Brown

It’s a pretty special moment for us here at Hylands Estate; for months we have been piecing together a masterplan to create an incredible Wedding Suite for our couples to enjoy on their wedding day. With the expert help of Liz at Knight Design Interiors and many other incredible suppliers, the new Wedding Suite is now complete!

As a Grade II* listed building, we need to be considerate of the heritage and history embedded in our beautiful venue, carefully curating new designs with guidance from industry experts to ensure we remain complimentary of the buildings interiors whilst offering an exciting contemporary twist.

The new Wedding Suite comprises of four luxurious rooms, all available within your wedding hire. Hylands Estate is an exclusive dry hire venue offering you the flexibility to select your own caterers and contractors to create a day bespoke to you. We offer a complimentary hour ahead of your hire time to use the Wedding Suite for your bridal prep. You’ll have the freedom to pop back as many times as necessary throughout the day to freshen up, change outfits, or simply to take a moment for yourselves!

Some room highlights:

  • Coded door access to each room
  • Tea & coffee making facilities
  • Refrigerator – you can supply your own cold refreshments
  • Coded safe for valuables
  • Ample wardrobe space
  • Stunning views over the parkland
  • Plenty of Instagram-able backdrops (taking #mirrorselfie to the next level!)

The Wisteria Suite

There really is nothing more exciting than arriving at Hylands House on the morning of your wedding with your entourage of bridesmaids. Dashing up the Grand Staircase with bags and dresses in tow, leaving your Bridesmaids in the Rose Room and heading into your own stress-free space!

This is your time to unwind and relax whilst your hair and make-up team make you feel like a Princess. Your Photographer pops in to capture those precious early morning moments and before too long it’s time to put on your dress and prepare to celebrate with your loved ones!

The wisteria pergolas in the Pleasure Garden are a real gem in our Crown and so it felt only right to incorporate them into the bridal suite. The Degournay silk feature wallpaper within the bay window really is the ultimate photo backdrop!

We’ve thought of everything in this space, from comfortable seating, to refreshment facilities, storage space to a place to hang your wedding dress.

The Rose Room

Perfectly designed to allow your Bridesmaids plenty of space for hair and make-up, including three vanity stations complete with storage drawers, marble worktops, gilded mirrors and plenty of lighting!

With so much space to relax, your bridal party can enjoy a morning tea (or glass of bubbles!) whilst gazing out over the parkland from the sumptuous window seats, allowing you to enjoy your own space just next door in the Wisteria Suite!

Along with the highlights listed above, this space also boasts a stunning full-length gilded mirror (essential to any good wedding), handmade furniture and luxurious wallpaper, all of which a subtle nod to the Rose gardens here at the Estate.

The Repton Room

Whilst we know the Bride is the real star of the show, we haven’t forgotten the Groom. By offering three individual rooms we’ve ensured that the Groom can also relax in his own space along with his Groomsmen.

We’ll supply the hot drinks and all you need to do is relax, not lose the rings and be ceremony ready at just the right time!

Humphry Repton was an architect and landscape gardener commissioned by previous owner Cornelius Kortright during his ownership in the early 1800’s. His designs are the blueprint of the house and gardens you see today at Hylands Estate and so it felt only right to name this space after such an important influence on the Estate.

The Lobby & Bathroom

Nestled between the Wisteria Suite and the Rose Room is this perfect washroom with spacious shower enclosure, bespoke vanity unit by Vanity Flair Designs and gold mirrors by Anthropologie.

We’ll provide you with fresh white towels and toiletries galore.
